Toastmasters Tanglin Speakers Club, at Tanglin Community Club

Tanglin Community Club, with sports facilities - not to be confused with the Tanglin Club which is a private members club with a restaurant and swimming pool.

Walking distance from Stevens MRT station on the Downtown line.
The station is still being extended. Hence an awkward walk winding through a building site, 2019.

Upstairs room.
We met in an upstairs room. Sat all around at a conference table. Warm welcome.
Great home made food at break time, sandwiches, chicken patty, deep fried, bottle of drink, water bottle.
Programme sheet has no phone numbers nor emails.
Often make room for visitors to have a role, table topics and a role. I was language evaluator and topics speaker.

We had objects to speak about. A Haj belt has a zip compartment and a d ring key fob.
that reminds me, I must add a ribbon attached to a spiral key holder to hold my key to my jacket pocket or bag.

I got a lift back to the station. Not only saved me that walk. Made me feel one of the group, wanted. Enabled us to have extra talking together time. A chance to chat to one more person I had no yet spoken to.

Stevens is an odd station, with different directions on different levels. If you overshoot your station they tell you to go back/ on to Botanic gardens because here at Stevens you cannot go to the other platform without going through the fare gate and paying again. Signs warn you.

Author C Castle gave us a bookmark advertising her book. Nicer than the long British bookmark, this was shorter and wider.

She had registered her company name in America. You can do that in Singaore but only for two years, another person told me.

(Then you have to remember to pay again for renewal?. I think in the USA you may have the option of a 1 or 2 year or permanent registration of a company name at different prices. So if you are starting a company and don't have unlimited funds or think you might change the name, or you register several similar names at lower cost because you have not yet decided which name. When you go to choose a name, you sometimes see that it is registered in the USA with dot com. In Singapore you get a name ending sg. Depends where you want to be based and want to pay tax. I have not checked this out.
